Unit Action: As part of 5th Army, XIV Corps, Guards Division, the 2nd Bn. Grenadier Guards, were involved in actions of the Battle of Poelcappelle, on the 9th October 1917, this battle formed part of the larger action now known as the 3rd battle of Ypres.

Unit Action: As part of 4th Army, XIII Corps, 25th Division, 75th Brigade, the 1/8th Bn. Worcestershire  Regiment, were involved in actions in the Battle of the Sambre on the 4th November 1918.

25th Division were also involved in action in the passage of the Sambre - Oise canal on the same date.

Further Information: Written on the reverse of the postcard (inset on Left) '.....Pte Frank Timson Leicester Regt. Missing since May 15th 1915. He was 21yrs of age & joined 17th Regt when he was 17 yr old. He was three times wounded & fought at Armentiers, Ypres & Neuve Chappelle. His friends live at Enderby of which village he was a native. Please return to T. Carter King St. Enderby.....'

Inscription reads:

"..........In loving memory of, Pte. Arthur Amos Wells, the beloved husband of, Ethel Mary Wells, killed at Salonica September 19th 1918, aged 41 years. He nobly did his duty.

Also of Bernard, the beloved son of the above, died June 12th 1919, aged 5 years........."

Unit Action: As part of 22nd Division, 65th Brigade, the King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment), were involved in action in the Battle of Dojran (Macedonia), between the 18th - 19th September 1918.
